Matching Puppies is a ceramic sculpture cold-finished with chalk pastels. The work serves as a lasting embodiment of how human love leaves enduring traces. The piece consists of two identical recreations of stuffed animals that began their lives the same, yet diverged over time through use, care, and affection. Once identical, the forms became distinct after being handled, worn, chastised, and deeply loved by my brother and me. Through this transformation, Matching Puppies reflects how intimacy, memory, and time shape objects just as they shape people, leaving visible marks of connection and lived experience.
